Keeping It Real

I Must Express Myself

For a while now, I’ve been feeling frustrated because I have so much on my mind that I believe is meaningful, yet I feel like I have no one to express those thoughts to (besides those within my own household, who are probably sick to death by now of hearing it all).

Generally speaking, I feel like many people don’t want to hear what’s on my mind because I spend a lot of time thinking about reality. And frankly, I think most people don’t like having to face it.

But I think there are those who are concerned about the realities of life — particularly those that affect them personally, and they probably long to hear what others are thinking about them.

Perhaps there are those who are even interested in what could be done to make their world a better place in light of it, which is what I’m all about.

I don’t like just talking about problems, I want to see them solved, and I am willing to do my part to make that happen. And for now, I think that part involves me expressing myself. The question is how do I reach people?

Blogging

I don’t do social media, and although I think videos can be very effective (and I’m not shy in front of a camera), I am not willing to invest my time & energy into making, editing & posting them online at this time, largely because my Internet service is horrible.

The same goes for podcasting. Although very effective (and I do like to talk), I’m not willing to invest my time, energy & resources into using that venue either, partly for the same reason: lousy Internet service.

However, I do like to write, and I already have a platform here on this site and the know-how to use it. While I’m not willing to dive into all the social media networks out there to share what I write, I will invest in maintaining an email subscription list. (And hopefully, others will share what I write for me.)

I don’t intend to try & teach anyone anything or persuade anyone to think or do anything with these blog posts. I’m just going to share what’s on my mind that I consider to be meaningful, and I’m going to keep it real.

Hopefully, those who are interested in what I share will keep coming back — and even engage with me in discussion. And ideally, I would like to connect with folks on a more personal level (either over the phone or in person) and potentially work together to make our respective worlds better.

But for now, I will simply blog. 🙂

I like your perspective of simply using electronic and paper mail to communicate with people who wish to subscribe. It’s much more personal, secure, and dependable than social media.
