Homestead Work Exchange

Gain some hands-on experience working cooperatively with us on our private 16+acre homestead in Central Virginia, developing various components we believe are necessary to a well-functioning ecovillage.

In exchange for working three and a half (3.5) hours per day, six (6) days a week (Sunday – Friday), doing whatever is asked with some time focused on growing food, we are offering to the right candidates temporary housing, utilities, and a share of whatever food we are producing at the time.

Skills and interests will be considered in the work allocation, but the priority will be whatever the weather and seasonal timing dictates. Any potential paid work is above & beyond the standard time mentioned.

The temporary housing consists of an independent off-grid, approximately 150-square foot, single room stand-alone space with access to separate shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. These facilities are common areas and are not attached to the housing space.

Onsite Internet service is good at about 1 meg. And there is no smoking or pets permitted in this homestead work exchange.
